Are you considering a new kitchen? Don't forget the electrics need to be looked at and an electrician booked to do the work at the correct time to fit in with the kitchen fitter, plumber, plasterer, and tiler.
Kitchens use a lot of power and it is important to have them wired correctly to ensure your safety and that there are no problems in the future. You don't want to start looking at the electrics once the walls are plastered, or the units fitted - by then it is much more difficult.
Insist on having a qualified part P registered electrician to perform all the electrical work and provide you with a certificate. Electrical work in a kitchen also needs to be registered with building regulations which a qualified electrician is permitted to do and to certify with the local council.
If you have electrical work carried out by a non qualified electrician not only are they breaking the law by doing the work, but so are you by not checking they are qualified to do the work.
Your kitchen fitter may well also be a qualified electrician, or more likely will have one he can call on. If not then at DJP Electrical I have fitted a lot of kitchens and may have some fresh ideas you had not even considered.
